Volunteering at Hotel Dieu Hospital is an excellent chance to belong to a caring community where you can share your talents, network, meet new friends & develop new skills.

Every year, more than 300 volunteers generously donate over 20,000 volunteer hours in over 30 areas of the hospital & help raise funds in excess of $150000 annually towards the purchase of much needed hospital equipment. As a valued member of the Hotel Dieu team, volunteers play a vital role in:

• creating a friendly & warm environment for patients, visitors & staff
• enabling staff to perform their duties uninterrupted
• making directions & non-medical information readily available
• improving the quality of patients’ experience & satisfaction with their visit
• contributing to the perceived value of HDH within our community

Volunteers are generally expected to commit to one shift per week (2-3 hours) for a minimum of 3 months. Upon receipt of your application we may contact you for an interview where we discuss screening, training & placement expectations.

Volunteers may be placed according to the vacancies & the interests, skills & suitability of the prospective volunteer.
