The general radiology Technologist is responsible for various procedures that involve the use of a low level radiation. Plain radiography of the chest, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal/urological studies, and fluoroscopy which demonstrate real-time imaging that shows movement.
Always ready for a fluctuating workflow, this team serves HDH’s Urgent Care Department, Operating Room, Clinic patient requests as well as outpatients that arrive with requisitions from outside physicians.
We are staffed 8 am-6 pm weekdays for outpatient work and are able to accommodate outpatients with a physician's requisition from 11 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on weekends.
All technologists are registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists.

Ultrasound at HDH consists of several different rooms covering a wide range of studies.
The main department works closely with the outpatient clinics and urgent care department to provide the most efficient service possible.
All sonographers are registered with Canadian Society of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
The Computed Tomography (CT) Scanning Department of Imaging Services dates back to 1989 when the first scanner was installed at HDH.
The technology used to produce CT images has grown at an exponential rate since then and HDH has continued to upgrade and replace the CT equipment to keep pace with the ever improving technology.

The Technologists operating the CT Scanners are highly trained and skilled in the use of the scanners and are all registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists.

The Mammography Department of Imaging Services provides service for outpatients, OBSP patients and Breast Assessment patients. We perform stereotactic core biopsies, ductograms as well as needle localizations for the breast surgeons.
We have two digital mammography Giotto units.
Our Mammography department runs Monday through Friday from 8:00-5:30 pm.
All technologists are registered with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists and are OBSP certified.
