Chronic Pain Clinic

The Hotel Dieu Ambulatory Chronic Pain Program is a comprehensive ambulatory pain management program for Southeastern Ontario that provides patients with information and education followed by an in-depth initial assessment, treatment plan, wellness promotion, follow-up care, primary care assistance/education, and prescription monitoring where appropriate.  The Program also provides opportunities to support research and knowledge translation about pain within the broader health care system.  In keeping with the Ontario Strategy to Prevent Opioid Addiction and Overdose, the Program focuses on prescribing principles and treatments that prioritize patient safety with the goal of decreasing opioid reliance in pain management while increasing the patient’s ability to self-manage their pain and improve their quality of life day-to-day.
