SE LHIN invites feedback on proposed health system changes

The South East Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) is inviting feedback on Patients First: A Proposal to Strengthen Patient Centred Healthcare, which was released on December 17, 2015 by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC).

Patients First is a discussion paper that outlines proposed changes for the health system. The proposed structural changes would see LHINs assume responsibility for home care and the planning and monitoring of primary care, and have improved linkages with population health planning.

As part of the South East LHIN’s commitment to engaging communities, several opportunities are being provided for members of the public to learn more about the proposal, as well as provide feedback via:

  • an online survey, available Feb. 1-26, 2016
  • a telephone town hall, offered on Feb. 19, 2016
  • in-person opportunities at the following locations to learn more about the proposal and provide feedback:
    • Brockville – Feb. 9, 6-8 pm
    • Belleville – Feb. 10, 6-8 pm
    • Kingston – Feb. 16, 6-8 pm
    • Perth – Feb. 22, 10 am-12 pm
    • Kingston (French) – Feb. 23, 5:30-7:30 pm
