KHSC warns public about fraudulent recruitment e-mails

Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) has received reports of a fraudulent recruitment program targeting people and healthcare providers in various countries around the world. Originating from outside of Canada, the fraudulent campaign attempts to collect personal information from people who believe they are applying for false job opportunities at our Hotel Dieu Hospital (HDH) site in Kingston, Ontario.

Applicants receive a fraudulent notice stating that they have been selected for an application process for a position at the HDH site and are instructed to follow an illegitimate recruitment and application process.

HDH would like the public to know that it is not involved in a recruitment campaign in countries outside of Canada. It does not actively recruit healthcare staff from abroad, nor does it recruit through e-mail campaigns, or ask job applicants to send money as part of the application process.

If you have received an e-mail or any other communications similar to that described above, contact your local policing agency or anti-fraud agency. Do not respond to any e-mails that you suspect may be fraudulent in nature.
