Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention Program

Hotel Dieu Hospital is committed to providing a safe, healthy and supportive work environment by treating our staff, patients and visitors with respect, fairness, dignity and sensitivity.

We recognize the potential for violence in the workplace, including domestic violence and harassment. The hospital will make every reasonable effort to identify potential sources of such risk and to eliminate or minimize those sources through our Workplace Violence and Harassment Prevention Program.

The Program establishes our zero-tolerance approach to violence and harassment within the workplace or during work-related activities.

Zero tolerance means that every reported action of workplace violence and harassment will be tracked and resolved based on the individual facts. Individual cases may require different resolutions, and measures will be put in place to assist parties in conflict resolution. Where appropriate, disciplinary action will be taken, up to and including terminating employment, revoking physician privileges or terminating volunteer/student/contract agreements.
