Our Summer High School Studen Volunteer Program
The 2009 Elements of Health Care Program is NOW OPEN FOR APPLICATION. Applications are available below and the deadline is always the first week of June.
Our Elements of Health Care program is designed to introduce secondary school students to the sophisticated world of Health Care careers and programs. Teens will develop personal skills, participate with others in a meaningful volunteer experience and learn about various aspects of Health Care in a hands-on environment.

- 40 + hours hands-on practical experience
- Free admission to learning workshops held at Kingston General Hospital & St. Mary’s of the Lake
- Enhance leadership and organizational skills as an active fundraising committee member
- Certificate of Achievement and letter of completion (upon completion of requirements)
- Minimum age is 14 years or born in or before 1995
- Each application must include two reference letters
- Space is limited, however all applicants will be considered
- Once selected each volunteer must attend an orientation session, complete required documentation, and mandatory physical which will be completed at Hotel Dieu Hospital at no charge
- Applicants under the age of 18 must have a completed parental/guardian consent form, which will be provided by Volunteer Services to Hotel Dieu Hospital.
- Students must be able to attend all orientation dates as well as at least 2 of the workshops and must volunteer a minimum of 6 hours a week for a minimum of 5 weeks during July & August.

- Applications must always be received by the end of the first week in June.
