Counting down to 21st Annual Run/Walk for KidsInclusive

Known equally for its incredible spirit and for the number of kids and families who hit the streets to raise funds for children with special needs, the Annual Run/Walk for KidsInclusive is gearing up another amazing event Sunday, April 2.

Registration is now open for the 21st annual event, which raised $28,000 last year to purchase equipment, support specialized education and training, initiate new programs, and assist families with the exceptional costs associated with raising a child with special needs.

“We’ve got a great T-shirt celebrating the Run/Walk this year,” says organizer Marianne McLure.  “You just have to get your registration in by Friday, March 10.  It’s a visible way of giving a shout-out to KidsInclusive as you travel along the Run/Walk course.”

Along with a 10km run and 5km run/walk, the event features a fun, kid-sized 1 km run/walk.  The hub of the action will be at the Queen’s University Athletics & Recreation Centre (284 Earl Street), with the kids’ race starting at 10:00 am and the adult race at 10:30 am.

Runners and walkers can register at www.events.runningroom.com.  Online registration closes March 30 and same day race registrations are welcome.

“We’ve heard from families that KidsInclusive can make a world of difference in their lives,” says KidsInclusive Manager Christine Kasserra.  “Everyone who supports this event can help to make that happen.”
